A Short History of VetPlus

VetPlus was founded in 1995 by David Haythornthwaite, the company’s current owner. David, who lived in the USA for thirteen years had identified America’s growing interest in veterinary nutraceuticals:

“Substances produced in a purified or extracted form that are administered orally to provide or stimulate production of raw materials required for normal bodily functions”.

Pioneer

Coming from an agricultural background and recognising that most good ideas eventually cross the Atlantic to Europe he returned to the UK determined to develop his own range of veterinary products. Starting from a bedroom in Lytham, David took the original concept and pioneered the development and acceptance of nutraceuticals within the UK veterinary profession.

There are many reasons for the company's success but in principal they are built around two key strategies:

• Make the best possible products
• Sell them only through veterinarians
