Our commitment

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, Tangerine Holdings Limited, as well as to our subsidiary and affiliated group companies (“Tangerine Group”).  This Privacy Notice sets out the types of information we may collect from you when you visit any of our Tangerine Group websites.  At Tangerine Group we fully appreciate your concerns about privacy and commit to safeguard and preserve the security and privacy of visitors to any of our websites.

By using any of our websites, you consent to the collection and use of information as set out in this Privacy Notice.

Personal Data

We collect personal data such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, or phone number that we may use to identify you. Whilst we only process your personal data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Notice, we reserve the right to perform additional processing when required to do so.

Use of Personal Data

Use of personal data under UK data protection laws must be justified under one of a number of legal grounds that we must explain.  However, most of our websites do not require any type of registration, which allows you to visit the site without telling us who you are.  In certain circumstances we may require you to provide us with personal data and, if you choose not to do so, it may not be possible for you to gain access to certain parts of the site and/or for us to respond to your query.

We may collect and use personal data to provide you with products or services, to bill you for products you request, for direct marketing purposes (e.g. trade show invitations, flyers with further information and offers/promotions concerning our products) to market products we think may be of interest to you, or to communicate with you for other purposes about which we inform you when we collect your personal data.

We may also collect some data automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and other technical information. We use ‘cookies’ to collect and store this data.  For more information about the ‘cookies’ we collect, please refer to our Cookies Policy available on our website.

Non-disclosure of Personal Data

We do not sell, share, or otherwise distribute your personal data to third parties unless provided for in this Privacy Notice.  We may, however, disclose your personal data to other Tangerine Group companies who shall treat it in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

Personal data may also be transferred to third parties who act for or on our behalf, for further processing in accordance with the purpose(s) for which the data were originally collected or may otherwise be lawfully processed, such as delivery and direct marketing.  These third parties have contracted with us to use personal data for the agreed upon purpose only, and not to sell your personal data to third parties, and not to disclose it to third parties (except as may be required by law) or as stated in this Privacy Notice.

Personal data may be disclosed to a third party if we are required to do so by applicable law, court order or governmental regulation, or if such disclosure is otherwise necessary in support of any legal investigation or proceeding.

Right of access, correction, and removal

Whenever we process personal data, we take reasonable steps to ensure that such data is kept accurate and up-to date for the purposes for which it was collected. You can object to the processing of your personal data if such processing is not reasonably required for a legitimate business purpose as described in this Privacy Notice or our compliance with law. In the case of electronic direct marketing, we will provide you with a method to opt out of receiving further marketing materials or with a method to opt in if required by law.

Please note it may not always be possible to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.

Security and confidentiality

Your information is securely stored.  To ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data that we collect, we use networks protected by, amongst other things, firewalls and encryption. While handling your personal data, we take measures reasonably designed to protect that information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.  However, no data transmission or storage system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

Data transfers

The Tangerine Group operates globally and has databases in different countries, some of which are operated by its local subsidiaries, and some of which are operated by third parties on our behalf. We may transfer your data to one of the Group’s databases outside your country of domicile, potentially including countries which may not have equivalent standards for the protection of personal information compared to the country where you are located.  Data protection legislation prevents us from transferring data to countries which do not provide adequate protection unless the transfer is governed by legislation or we have an appropriate agreement allowing the transfer of such data.  Tangerine has implemented legal safeguards to ensure effective levels of data protection.

Links to other sites

This Privacy Notice applies only to our websites, and not to websites owned by third parties.  On occasion we may include link to third parties on our website.  We aim to ensure that such websites are of the highest standard, however, it does not mean that we endorse or approve that site and you are advised to review that third party website Privacy Notice prior to sending them any personal data.  Accordingly, Tangerine shall not be responsible for the contents of sites other than those of itself and its Group, and this Privacy Notice is not intended to be applicable to any linked, non-Tangerine site.
